Vacation in India

People come and go for vacations from US to India. I have started to wonder what they really do on vacations, especially people whose native place is far into some remote city which has no idea about the latest entertainment & technologies. (Well, my place is not really too remote, but it is...kind of....boring!)

Just one day (less than one day actually) into my "vacation" and I already did not know what I was going to do for the rest of my vacation. Thank God, next week I have plans for some trips near Bangalore, and also will be meeting a lot of guys there, so hopefully that would just zoom past me.

Maybe I need to relocate my parents to either some city or some place where it would be more serene and calm for more relaxation, and be not in a place which is neither serene nor hyperactive.

Comeon, I am not complaining; it was just a thought. I still love my Sivakasi!

Missed calls

This is a unique feature in India. No cost for giving missed calls! People conveniently using the technology, but not really getting charged for it. It is used, but not really used. Maybe that is why we get some maintenance charge or service charge deducted every day? In the US, if the call goes through or not, if it was just one ring or 10 rings, if you talk for one min or 1 sec, it's always considered a call.

But, it did help me flirt with someone by just to keep giving missed calls at un-earthly hours, at un-predictable times, from un-planned places... ;)

I love India!!!

SQ Jinx

Oh Man! Singapore Airlines (SQ 15) from SFO is a jinx for me I guess. Last time around, it took away my Motorola Flip type phone, which was the craze at that time. And this time it is worse, it took a cool slider phone from me. I wanted to use that to show off...both times. I guess I shouldn't be thinking of showing off...I am really sad this time more than last time. Last time it was just an inconvenience, but this time, I simply loved the phone.

Why should I take the phone out in the restroom, admire it, think about how I can impress people with the phone, and then leave the phone near the wash basin, that too in the corner, and then, forget about it, so that someone can easily take it? I certainly would like to see the bright glow in the face of the person who saw and snatched away the phone from its cozy (??) basin rest.

I am (was I???) a firm believer of the prophecy... Everything happens for good! So, can someone tell me what was good in losing the phone.. both times? There is a superstition of "Kannu padurathu", so was God making sure I didn't get that?

Anyway, need to be more careful with my things, that's all to it, I believe. Will keep me thinking until I catch my transit flight at Singapore here. My first job on landing at Chennai might be get a new phone.

Maybe it hapenned 'cos it was time to get a cooler phone!
